Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

Terex Electric Scissor Lifts

How to Charge a Scissor Lift
There is a great convenience when using a scissor lift, as the ease of working and the lift basket's security provides peace of mind when attempting to carry out tasks that could have otherwise required utilizing the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this equipment make it the best option for performing jobs from heights.

Nearly all scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted inside the lift's base. These batteries have to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple task to charge the batteries. This could be done without any specialized tools or equipment and needs no heavy labor.

In order to prepare the scissor lift for charging, position the equipment next to an electrical outlet. Make sure you are doing this in a well-ventilated area. Then, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button found in the basket of the lift, near the charger or the control box. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Usually, older units would have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.

The AC extension cord should next be plugged into the charger. Be certain to charge in a well ventilated place and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area while in use, extreme danger can likely happen.
