The S-boom telescopic booms manufactured by Genie have been outfitted with a reach ranging from 9.65 meters and 24.38 meters and an ability to work in heights of 14.20 meters to 40.15 meters. Telescoping booms have a much greater range of reach horizontally as opposed to other kinds of aerial work platforms. Genie telescopic booms are engineered with consideration to being able to access confined areas during industrial and construction applications. They are also recognized for their ability to maneuver through a job site quickly and with great traction and drive speed. The platform hydraulically turns 160° and is able to stay level through the whole range. Front-entry platforms come with 227 kilogram to 272 kilogram capacity for operators and tools and are available from 1.83 meters to 2.44 meters. Continuous, 360° rotating turntables offer operators easy, quick positioning.
The Z-135/70 model comes outfitted with a Jib-Extend, that is a telescoping jib. It extends from 3.66 meters to 6.1 meters. This unit can also reach 110° vertically to give the user the ability to reach tasks that were previously unreachable by typical jibs. The Z-80/60 unit's secondary reverse-articulating boom gives the user 8.83 meters of up and over reach. This particular feature allows over and up reaching tasks to be completed with zero front arm swing.
Genie also offers the Fast Mast system which allows for valuable time to be saved when both primary and secondary booms have to be lifted or for lowering the platform without having to lower the secondary boom. The Fast Mast system enables both booms to be fully raised simultaneously. Both of these features of the Genie Fast Mast system reduces the time required for users to ascend and descend, increasing both productivity and efficiency.
