Types of Forklifts
Forklifts are utilized inside warehouse and construction sites to carry and move loads that are heavy. They are commonly found in material handling and other manufacturing industries. There are various types of forklifts utilized for different kinds of applications.
The way forklifts are powered is the biggest difference between them. Several are electric powered and several use internal combustion motors. For lifting loads that are heavy whilst maintaining minimum operating expenses, electric forklifts are generally the best choice. Electric forklifts are commonly found in indoor work environments. For outdoor uses, internal combustion forklifts are generally recommended.
Types of forklifts are manual drive, fork truck and motorized drive. Fork trucks are motorized and have cabs and backup alarms. Motorized drive forklifts typically have a protected seat for the operator. Manual drive forklifts are powered manually.
Some forklifts are counterbalanced in order to avoid tipping over. Other safety features include handrails or turntables. Specialty forklifts are available for certain applications. Like for example, narrow aisle forklifts are designed to work in very tight spaces. Rough-terrain forklifts work well on surfaces which are rocky and uneven.
