Skyjack Safety
Based on Skyjack, the scissor lift is a piece of specialized industrial equipment used specifically for positioning workers, their equipment and their tools. Anyone who is preparing to use this type of machine needs to familiarize themselves with the recommended operational and safety procedures suggested by the manufacturer in order to stay safe prior to trying to operate this equipment. It could be devastating to the operator themselves and any bystanders leading to serious injuries if the safety procedures are not followed.
Area
In the best case scenario, the scissor lift will be used on totally level ground. Prior to driving a scissor lift over a certain terrain, the area needs to be checked and cleared of any debris. To be able to lower the possibility of the scissor lift tipping over and probably causing the operator to fall from his seat. It is better to avoid holes or steep grades while operating. Bystanders should also remain aware and avoid the operating scissor lift so as to make sure that they do not get run over.
Inspection
The user needs to carefully inspect all vital parts of the machine prior to trying to use a scissor lift. A functional test performed while the lift is retracted allows the operator to see if all components are properly functioning before the task is initiated. It is better to perform a daily check on this machine prior to starting the shift and several places even want an inspection to occur at the end of the shift too. Different companies have various rules in place to maintain safety.
Checking the tires must be part of the inspection. These components obviously add to the scissor lift's movability and also provide the equipment with a solid foundation. A tire that is faulty or worn can blow and throw the operator from their place on top of scissor lift.
