Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources which could power forklifts. They could run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. For instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
