Clark Diesel Forklifts Alberta

Electric Forklift Vs. Diesel Forklift
Forklifts could function one of two ways, either by electric motor or by internal combustion (IC) motor. Electric forklifts are suitable for use indoors and cost less to operate. IC machinery are suitable for outdoor application and are faster to refuel.

Electric Forklifts
For indoor applications, where the quality of air is a problem, the electric forklift is the best machine you can utilize since it produces no exhaust. Electric forklifts are clean and are not noisy. They are 20% to 40% more expensive to purchase than IC lifts, but the per-hour operating cost of electric models is much lower. The disadvantage is that batteries need 16 hours to charge and cool down, so the purchase of an extra set of batteries is suggested. Electric lifts are not limited for use indoors, but when used outdoors they should be used cautiously.

Diesel Forklifts
Internal Combustion forklifts have a higher carrying capacity compared to electric forklifts and are generally utilized for outdoor applications. If your fleet generally operates on one kind of fuel, it might be a good choice to purchase an IC unit that uses the same type of fuel. They can function on diesel, gas or propane. Diesel is the least expensive. IC forklifts have the advantage of being easy to refuel and cheaper to operate; nonetheless, their per-hour cost to operate is higher. The majority of IC models cannot be utilized indoors.

Other Kinds of Forklifts
Narrow-aisle electric forklifts are suitable for limited spaces within warehouses. They are constructed to pick up loads without having to position the lift facing the stacks. Rough terrain diesel forklifts have big tires for running on difficult surfaces.
