Forklift Tires
When it comes to installation types, there are two types regarding forklift tires: standard and press on. Normally, press on tires are used on electric forklifts and those models used indoors such as warehouses. The press on tires may also be utilized in light industrial application as well.

Standard tires are mostly used on forklifts which operate in outdoor settings or where uneven or rough surfaces need more traction and tougher tires.

Because there are many various types of forklifts, there are also lots of various kinds of forklift tires. The most frequently utilized tires are pneumatic, solid and polyurethane. The kind of tires are dictated by where and what the forklift is used for. It is very crucial to acquire the correct tires for the task and ensuring the correct choice would have a huge impact on both performance and safety.

For outdoor forklifts that have to operate in an all-terrain atmosphere such as on a construction site, the best option will be pneumatic tires. These are made of durable rubber and then filled with air, like a tractor or truck tire. Pneumatic tires create an air cushion between the forklift and the terrain. This particular design significantly lessens the wear and tear on the equipment and creates a very comfortable ride for the operator. The tire's deep, thick treads provide the necessary traction required for use on rough and uneven surfaces.

For light industrial applications, both indoors and outdoors, solid tires are best. They are made out of tough, constructed solid rubber. This helps them to stay safer from blowouts, popping like pneumatic tires or damage due to puncture wounds. Since these tires are not filled with air, they could not provide the cushion effect. This fact makes them not suitable for use on rough terrain. Several solid tires are constructed with holes in the sidewalls to provide a rather softer ride. The only issue is that this type of construction makes the load carrying capacity of the forklift less.

The polyurethane forklift tires will typically outlast both of the rubber tire designs but are intended for indoor warehouse use only. The load capacity of polyurethane is a lot higher than that of a rubber tire. These tires work great with well with electric forklifts because of the additional weight of the batteries of the equipment. Because of the tire's less rolling resistance, another benefit of this type of tire is the extended battery life.
