In order to be a successful model, a forklift has to be strong enough to last in all working environments for numerous hours of use. It should be able to transport loads effectively and quickly too. The machine must be both comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator as well.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and reliable. The powertrain needs the power to continually provide great durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with really tough shafts and strong gears. The engine, transmission, steer axle and drive are all isolated to reduce vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM LP & Gas Engines:
The Mazda LP and GM Gas Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These types of machinery offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimal adjustment or repair. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which reduce wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine provide a higher compression ratio leading to enhanced torque. Incredible fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all machines. It features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts which provide resistance when driving on rough terrain. The durable clutch packs offer 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is available electronic inching that adjusts automatically so as to decrease maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system utilizes a computer-controlled power reversal that extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. Additionally, the auto deceleration feature reduces break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is engineered for added durability with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are completely sealed against contamination and practically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for debris and damage, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods that can add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. Also, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and lessens wear.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included numerous safety features and ergonomic features. These machines would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
