Narrow aisle forklifts
Frequently used in warehouse operations is the Narrow Aisle Forklift. These types of forklifts are vital tools within the business since their extreme maneuverability and small size enable warehouses to maximize storing space. They can easily negotiate aisles as narrow as 1.8 meters wide, whereas standard lift trucks require at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two kinds are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The former need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whereas the latter could function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The design of a narrow aisle forklift includes forks positioned at right angles to the truck body. The trucks do not have to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This particular design feature is the key to their suitability for tight spaces.
Some very narrow aisle forklifts come with wire or optical guidance systems that make sure that the forklift moves in a straight line down the aisle, which leaves the operator free to focus on load picking and placement.
These kinds of lifts are outfitted with cushion tires made from solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on concrete floors and smooth, paved surfaces. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors suited for applications within indoor places. Propane-powered versions are available too.
